Funding & projects
Our research is supported by major national and international grants. These projects also fund positions and visitor programmes — see Join & collaborate.
ERC Synergy Grant UNIVERSE+ (2024–2030)
As Coordinating Principal Investigator, I lead UNIVERSE+ — Positive Geometry in Particle Physics and Cosmology, an ERC Synergy Grant developing a mathematical framework for physical phenomena across scales, from particle physics to cosmology. The partner institutions are the Max Planck Institute for Physics, the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences, the University of Amsterdam, and the Institute for Advanced Study. The team comprises over 50 scientists.
Max Planck–IAS–NTU Center (since 2025)
The Max Planck Center for Particle Physics, Cosmology and Geometry links the Max Planck Institute for Physics with the Institute for Advanced Study (Princeton) and National Taiwan University. I am one of its three Co-Directors. The center supports joint workshops, research visits, and young-researcher exchange between Europe, the US, and Asia (press release on the opening).
DFG Research Unit FOR 5582 (since 2025)
The Research Unit Modern Foundations of Scattering Amplitudes (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, FOR 5582) brings together groups across Germany working on the mathematical structure of quantum field theory. I am one of its Principal Investigators.
Principal Investigators: Claude Duhr (spokesperson), Livia Ferro, Valentina Forini, Johannes Henn, Albrecht Klemm, Florian Loebbert, Jan Plefka, Stephan Stieberger, Lorenzo Tancredi, Stefan Weinzierl.
